Tree Management

  • Inspect and manage Tree stock on Open Plan estates and St Leger Homes properties

Works issued following inspection where classed as ‘necessary’ in accordance with the City of Doncaster Council Tree Policy. Pruning / felling is classed as necessary for the following:

  • Structurally unsound trees
  • Trees touching / about to touch buildings
  • Trees obstructing footpaths / roads or sightlines
  • Trees obstructing street light heads or overhead infrastructure (cables)
  • Dead trees
  • Trees causing ‘actionable’ nuisance (physical damage) where evidence supports removal and no alternative solution

All works are assigned a target time according to need:

  • P1 – Emergency – completed within 24 hours
  • P2 – High priority - completed within 3 months
  • P3 – Medium priority – completed within 6 months
  • P4 – Low priority – completed within 12 months
  • All conifer tree works completed only between October and March

Please note that due to the large volume of works and resources available we cannot guarantee completion of works in accordance with medium and low priority target dates.

Pruning / felling is not normally classed as necessary for the following:

  • Obstruction of daylight, view or television signal
  • Fall of debris – leaves, seed, fruit, small branches – or exudates – sap, bird droppings, etc
  • Size of tree
  • Overhanging branches
  • Anti-social behaviour around trees
  • Maintenance of conifer hedges. We can reduce unmaintained hedges back to a maintainable size, but will only do so where the hedge will then receive ongoing maintenance.
