Meet our new Property Services Director, Lee Winterbottom

Earlier this month, Lee Winterbottom joined St Leger Homes as our new Director of Property Services.

Lee’s path to St Leger Homes began when he left school to take up a trade by becoming an apprentice joiner, which then led on to starting his own business.

“Before being involved in social housing I had my own joinery and building business”, said Lee. “Some of the work was renovation of properties that social housing landlords had acquired for supported housing. I got to see what they did and this struck me as something I would like to be involved in.”

Lee has now worked in social housing for more than 25 years. As Director of Property Services he is in charge of our repairs teams. Coming from a trades background himself, he appreciates the important role these teams play in the lives of customers.

“When something is not right with our home, we all want to have the confidence that there is someone there – no matter what time of day or night – who will resolve the issue we have”, said Lee.

Lee is keen to make sure that St Leger Homes keeps on improving and always delivers high quality services for our customers.

“I want to take the service on to the next phase and continue on from the good work that has been done to date”, said Lee. “Part of this is to make sure that Property Services is in the best shape possible by being prepared for the challenges we will face.

“This includes understanding the current and future demand on the service. This is important because we, like many other organisations, have seen this rise dramatically. We also need to understand the impact of the Consumer Standards regulations the Government introduced this year and make sure that we are fit to meet these.

“I’m also shortly due to meet our Tenant Scrutiny Panel and I very much look forward to this. I will always take advantage of the insight they provide, so that we can continue to refine our services for customers.”
