We have been made aware that some tenants in our homes are being contacted by claims management companies, encouraging them to make claims for disrepair in their properties.

The people involved claim that if you have a repair that needs completing, that they work with St Leger Homes and the council to resolve the issue – this is not the case – they work on behalf of a solicitor.

They contact tenants normally through social media such as Facebook or through door knocks. We’ve had reports of this taking place recently in Denaby and Balby – targeting elderly or more vulnerable tenants.

These companies are not always what they seem and although they often advertise as offering a ‘no-win, no-fee’ service, this is not always the case.

They also use emotive issues to manipulate tenants into agreeing to work with them.

If you have a repair issue, this should be reported directly to us as your landlord to resolve.

We want to work with you to make sure your home is kept in good repair and as free from condensation and mould as possible.
