We celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the World of Work (WOW) scheme last week, along with our partners Doncaster College and Doncaster Jobcentre Plus.
The event was held at the College and was attended by representatives from the three partner organisations, including College tutors, the Doncaster Jobcentre Plus Business Partnership Team and our team here at St Leger Homes. We were also so pleased that many WOW participants were able to come along, including those who have just completed their multi skills college course, those who are currently working for us as part of their six months employment, and those who have secured permanent employment with us following their time on the WOW scheme.
Each organisation spoke about the progression of the WOW scheme since its start back in 2014, including the success over the past ten years. Over 1300 people have signed up to our WOW scheme over the duration of its course; with many going on to work full time for us at St Leger Homes or be supported into their own career path elsewhere.
We are proud to have cultivated a scheme that changes lives for the better and gives people and their families a brighter future. This is why the WOW scheme was set up, and we hope it continues long into the future helping as many people as possible secure long lasting and fulfilling employment.
