At the start of June, we joined forces with one of our construction partners, Wates, to take part in their Community Week.
The two-day event was set up by Wates to give back to the local community where they work, so our teams joined forces to support the initiative.
Wates are currently delivering a lot of improvement works at the Balby Bridge estate on our behalf, so we thought this would be a fantastic opportunity to give back to the area.
We had representatives from across St Leger Homes, including Customer Involvement, Housing Management and Building Safety, supporting with litter picks and helping to tidy the area.
They cleared 21 bags of rubbish!
Customer Involvement Officer, Alison Alcock, who helped arrange the event, said: “The project was led by Wates who, as part of their Social Value Investment, wanted to give something back to the estate.
“They not only supplied materials but also supported through staff volunteering and being involved.
“And as part of our commitment to partnership working, we joined forces to hopefully help improve the appearance of the Balby Bridge estate.”
Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help out and make a difference to our communities!
