We are delighted to announce that one of our Environmental Pride projects, Adventuring Angels, has won the 'Better Together' Community Award from Travis Perkins Managed Services.
Held at Silverstone last week; the awards recognise projects that put the community first, and winners receive £5,000 from the Travis Perkins Legacy Fund to go towards delivering further impact.
Adventuring Angels is a safe outdoor learning space in one of the most disadvantaged communities in Doncaster. With the support of Environmental Pride, what was once an old derelict allotment has been transformed into an open, green area, for the benefit of St Leger Homes residents and the wider community. It is used to encourage exploration of your local environment and promote positive physical and mental health. It also supports people to develop their personal and transferable skills whilst outside.
Chris Margrave, Chief Executive of St Leger Homes, said: “We’re delighted that one of the projects supported by the Environmental Pride project has been recognised with this award. Environmental Pride is something we’re incredibly proud of and we’re glad that our support, along with that of Doncaster Council and our wider partners, is making such a positive impact on our communities.”
Congratulations to Adventuring Angels – a well deserved award!
